Hi everyone! My name is Olivia Moore. I joined Salvo at the beginning of the Fall 2018 season. I grew up in Virginia playing club for the RichmondKickers. I went on to be a four-year starter at the DI level at VMI and SCSI, accomplishing quite a bit on the field and continuing an additional three years on the Carolina Elite Cobras USL W-League (semi-pro) team. During the USL years, I coached at the One. Soccer School camps in SouthCarolina. After my playing career ended, I coached the Midlothian HighSchool varsity girls team to State in Virginia two years in a row. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching throughout the years, and look forward to many more.
I have a B.S. in Biology and Chemical Engineering and currently work in the technology field as a Software Engineer. I am an African American. Being comfortable in my own skin has been a journey, but every day I strive to better understand my insecurities, goals, and limits to continue to remind myself I am a strong Black woman.
Creating a space where our BIPOC community felt understood and heard was and is extremely important to me. There were moments during my playing career where I believe having a support group would have been beneficial. Not only for me as a player but for me as a person. It is my hope this group creates bonds between players, a haven to openly express how they feel, and a stepping stone to help create strong, confident people of color. I'm looking forward to getting started!
